We collect as little as we can, use it only to run fundraisers, and never sell it or use it for marketing.

If you buy from a fundraiser

For raffles, tickets and anything you collect later, we ask for your name and email, and sometimes your mobile. For things paid on the spot and donations, we ask for nothing.

We use your details only to:

  • send your confirmation and receipt
  • run the raffle draw or check you in
  • let the group text you about collecting your order, if it asked for your mobile

The group running the fundraiser can see your order and details, so it can run its draw and hand out orders. Nobody else can, except Angus Lindsay when helping the group with a problem.

Card details go straight into Square’s secure payment form. We never see or store your card number.

If you run a group

We keep your name and email so you can sign in, and your role in your group. We keep your group’s events, photos, orders and its connection to Square.

To help with a problem, Angus Lindsay can open your group’s console. Anything they change there is recorded under their name. Only your group’s owners can add or remove people, connect Square or accept a fee.

If you ask for help in your console, we keep the conversation so our team can pick it up. An AI service answers first, using your group’s fundraisers. If you ask about a buyer’s order, it sees only their first name, never their email or mobile.

How it’s kept

Buyers’ names, emails and mobile numbers are encrypted in our database, which is in Sydney. Event photos are stored privately. We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers.

Services we use

A few companies handle data for us, only for these jobs:

  • Square takes payments into each group’s own account
  • our email service sends sign-in links and order confirmations
  • Mobile Message sends texts, when a group uses texting
  • Cloudflare checks that a person, not a bot, is paying
  • an AI service answers organisers’ help questions, when it’s switched on
  • Vercel and Neon host the site and its database

Seeing, fixing or removing your details

Ask the group you bought from, or ask us at hello@sortedfundraising.com.au. We’ll help, keeping only what a group needs for its financial records.
